How systems converge on one identity

4D-ID consumes observations and records produced elsewhere; it does not detect, segment, localize, or geometrically register the world. Convergence is about identity claims and their evidence:

  1. Alias rendezvous through identifiers the world already assigns (a parcel number, asset tag, IFC ID, place ID, or registry key), via identified_as and related aliases.
  2. Resolution across registries using supplied identifiers, relationships, and provenance. Spatial metadata may be evidence, but the resolver is not a perception or registration engine.
  3. Reconciliation when independent identities refer to one entity: authorized merge preserves history, and split preserves derivation and provenance when one identity must become several.

The result is a persistent identity with an auditable history, not a claim that 4D-ID performed observation or localization. SEGS is adjacent, not core.
